1. Platform Overview
Zion Taxi provides a technology platform that connects riders with transportation services.
Such services may be fulfilled by:
- Independent third-party drivers ("Independent Drivers"), or
- Vehicles owned or operated by Zion Taxi ("Zion Fleet")
Depending on the type of ride, Zion Taxi may act:
- As an intermediary platform (for Independent Drivers), or
- As a transportation service provider (for Zion Fleet rides), subject to applicable laws
2. Definitions
- "Rider" – A user booking a ride
- "Driver" – An independent service provider
- "Platform" – Zion Taxi applications and services
Each ride is classified at the time of booking as either:
- Marketplace Ride (Independent Driver), or
- Fleet Ride (Zion Taxi-operated)
3. Eligibility
Users must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Use a valid mobile number
4. Account Responsibility
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining account confidentiality
- All activity under your account
- Not sharing OTPs or login credentials
5. Ride Booking (Riders)
5.1 Booking
- Enter pickup and drop location
- View estimated fare
- Confirm ride
- The rider acknowledges that the assigned vehicle may be operated either by an Independent Driver or a Zion Taxi Fleet driver.
- The nature of the service may impact applicable responsibilities, support, and liability as outlined in these Terms.
5.2 Pricing
Fares may include:
- Base fare
- Distance and time charges
- Dynamic pricing
- Toll charges
5.3 Cancellation
- Cancellation fees may apply
- No-show charges may be applicable
6. Payments
- Payments may be made via digital methods or cash (if enabled)
- Third-party payment processors are used
- All payments are final unless disputed
7. Rider Responsibilities
Riders agree to:
- Treat drivers respectfully
- Not damage vehicles
- Not engage in illegal activities
- Provide accurate trip details
- Riders may be held liable for any damage caused to vehicles, including Zion Taxi-owned fleet vehicles.
Violation may result in suspension.
8. Driver & Fleet Operations
8.1 Independent Drivers
Drivers onboarded onto the Zion Taxi platform may operate as independent service providers.
Such drivers:
- Are not employees, agents, or representatives of Zion Taxi
- Are solely responsible for the services they provide
- Maintain their own licenses, permits, and compliance
8.2 Zion Taxi-Owned Fleet
Zion Taxi may operate certain vehicles directly ("Zion Fleet").
For rides fulfilled through Zion Fleet:
- Drivers may be employed or contracted directly by Zion Taxi
- Zion Taxi exercises operational control over such rides
- Additional internal safety, compliance, and quality standards may apply
8.3 Driver Obligations (All Drivers)
All drivers (independent or Zion Fleet) must:
- Hold valid licenses and permits
- Maintain vehicle safety and cleanliness
- Follow applicable traffic laws
- Provide professional and lawful service
8.4 Earnings & Commission
- Independent drivers receive earnings per ride minus platform commission
- Zion Taxi Fleet drivers may be compensated via salary, incentives, or internal payout structures
8.5 Driver Conduct
Drivers must not:
- Engage in misconduct or harassment
- Overcharge or deviate unfairly
- Refuse rides without valid reason
Violation may lead to suspension or termination.
9. Platform Rights & Operational Interventions
Zion Taxi reserves the right to:
- Modify or cancel bookings
- Issue refunds or penalties
- Suspend or terminate accounts
- Intervene in disputes
- Zion Taxi may reassign rides between Independent Drivers and Zion Fleet vehicles based on availability, operational requirements, or service optimization.
These actions may be performed by automated systems or authorized personnel.
10. Ratings & Reviews
- Riders and drivers may rate each other
- Poor ratings may lead to suspension
11. Safety & Service Disclaimer
Zion Taxi facilitates ride services through both:
- Independent drivers
- Zion Taxi-owned fleet vehicles
While Zion Taxi implements safety measures, including driver verification, tracking, and support systems:
- Zion Taxi does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or risk-free services
- Users acknowledge that transportation services carry inherent risks
For rides fulfilled by independent drivers:
- Zion Taxi acts as a platform intermediary
For rides fulfilled by Zion Taxi-owned fleet:
- Zion Taxi assumes operational responsibility subject to applicable laws
Users are expected to exercise reasonable judgment and caution while using the services.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
12.1 Independent Driver Rides
For rides provided by independent drivers, Zion Taxi shall not be liable for:
- Driver conduct or negligence
- Personal injury or damages
- Loss of belongings
- Delays or service issues
Zion Taxi acts solely as a technology platform in such cases.
12.2 Zion Taxi Fleet Rides
For rides fulfilled through Zion Taxi-owned fleet:
- Zion Taxi's liability, if any, shall be limited to direct damages arising from proven negligence
- Zion Taxi shall not be liable for:
- Indirect or consequential damages
- Loss of profits or opportunity
- Events beyond reasonable control
12.3 General Limitation
In all cases, Zion Taxi's total liability shall not exceed the value of the ride fare associated with the claim, except where required by law.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Zion Taxi against:
- Claims arising from misuse
- Violations of these Terms
- Legal disputes involving your actions
14. Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts for:
- Fraudulent activity
- Policy violations
- Abuse of the platform
15. Intellectual Property
All platform content, branding, and technology belong to Zion Taxi.
16. Dispute Resolution
- Governed by applicable laws of India
- Jurisdiction: [Madurai, Tamil Nadu]
- Disputes may be resolved via arbitration
17. Force Majeure
We are not liable for failures caused by:
- Natural disasters
- Government actions
- Network or infrastructure failures
18. Updates to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
19. Insurance & Coverage
- Independent Drivers are responsible for maintaining valid vehicle insurance as required by law
- Zion Taxi Fleet vehicles will maintain applicable insurance coverage in accordance with regulatory requirements
Zion Taxi does not guarantee coverage for:
- Personal belongings
- Unauthorized passengers
- Incidents arising from user negligence
